Student-led performing and visual arts showcase programs where young creators take the lead.
Act One + Arts Lab are built for students who want to perform, create, direct, design, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life — without the pressure of auditions or high-stakes competition.
Arts Lab
Our Arts Lab Students work together to create original and adapted works for three showcases held at Ashland Church:
- Winter Showcase (12/12/2026)
- Spring Showcase (3/13/2027)
- Summer Showcase (6/6/2027)

Entries for our December showcase must be submitted by 11/5/2026. Meetings with our Showcase Manager will be held in the month preceding each performance at scheduled locations throughout South Jersey. Virtual meetings will be available as well.Â
Works can be performing or physical arts.Â
Students are encouraged to take ownership of their projects from start to finish — brainstorming ideas, organizing rehearsals, developing performances, creating artwork, managing backstage elements, and helping shape the showcases themselves.
Adult mentors are present to guide, support, and help productions succeed, but students remain at the center of the creative process.
Pricing
Each showcase has a $20 per act.
Attendee tickets are $5 per ticket and sales will begin 1 month before the showcase.Â

Act One
Act One runs from September 2026 through June 2027 and includes all three yearly performances.
Students meet regularly throughout South Jersey and virtually to write, plan, and practice each performance.
Meeting Locations
Meetings rotate between (with tentative schedule):
- Vineland (First Monday each month)
- Freehold/Lumberton (Second Tuesdays each month)
- Carney’s Point (Third Wednesday each month)
- Marlton/Voorhees (Fourth Thursday each month*)
Each location hosts one meeting per month, creating approximately one meeting per week across South Jersey.
Changes to meeting dates and locations will be released at least one month in advance. You may attend as many or as few meetings as you would like, however Thursday meetings are required.Â
Because productions are student-driven, students should expect to communicate and rehearse with their groups and scenes outside of scheduled meetings. Additional meetings in Voorhees will be added in the month preceding the performance.Â

Full Year Registration: $500
July 2026 – June 2027

Flexible payment plans are available for families who prefer to spread tuition throughout the year.
Family Volunteer Discounts
Act One Arts Lab thrives because of community involvement.
Parents are strongly encouraged — but never required — to volunteer in support roles throughout the year.
Families receive 50% off with volunteer role. Additional discounts available for additional roles as required.Â
